This last week at Høgskolen i Telemark was VIKO week. VIKO is a student organization at the school. This year year marked their 20th year hosting the student week. The week included various activities from a beer tasting course to a casino night. One of the first events was a student play with silly many skits and dances.
The student week included an International Day. The international students represented their countries by each getting a table to display things from the country in addition to the countries' traditional foods! It was fun getting to see what people made and getting to eat it. I made some chocolate blondies and cinnamon rum caramel rolls for our America. Also had a slideshow with pictures of tacoma playing to show people the beautiful place I come from.
Last Wednesday night I took part in the Bø-Faktor talent competition. There were lots of wonderful performances by many talented students. I didn't know what to sing for the competition so I made a mashup of songs and performed it. And I won! I was very surprised and excited! Definitely felt humbled. The first place prize is that I get to have my own show at Kroa, so we shall see how that works out!
On Saturday I started getting sick, but I was able to attend the morning event, Ta Sjansen (take the chance, loosely translated), an event where student groups can assemble/build contraptions to sled down a steep hill then race to ring a bell on a string. At least that's what I gathered from the event. It was all good fun!
